Description

This Rich and Creamy Shrimp and Crab Spinach Dip with Garlic and Parmesan is an indulgent appetizer loaded with tender shrimp, lump crab meat, sautéed spinach, and a cheesy, garlicky cream base. Perfect for parties, holidays, or any time you want to impress your guests with a decadent dip.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cooked small shrimp, chopped
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (drained and picked over)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (or 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft, about 3–4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook another 30 seconds.
  3. Add spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted (if using fresh). Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  4. In a large bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth.
  5. Stir in the cooked onion-spinach mixture, chopped shrimp, crab meat, mozzarella, Parmesan, Old Bay, salt, and pepper.
  6. Transfer to a greased baking dish and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Broil for 2–3 minutes at the end for a golden top, if desired.
  8. Serve warm with bread, chips, or crackers.

Notes

  • Make ahead: Prepare the dip a day in advance and bake just before serving.
  • For extra spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or diced jalapeños.
  • Use high-quality lump crab for the best flavor and texture.
