- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
- 3 cups broccoli florets, fresh
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, sliced
Instructions
- Heat your cast iron skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch until combined.
- Add vegetable oil to the hot skillet, swirling to coat the surface.
- Cook beef slices in batches until browned, then remove and set aside.
- Add broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir to coat everything evenly and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top, toss gently, and serve hot.
Notes
- Slice the beef very thinly against the grain for a tender bite.
- Prep all ingredients ahead of time—stir-frying moves fast!
- Double the sauce if you prefer a saucier dish.
- To make it spicier, add chili flakes or sriracha to the sauce mix.
