Description

A flavorful, quick stir-fry featuring tender beef slices, crisp broccoli, and a glossy sesame soy glaze. Perfect for busy weeknights or satisfying takeout cravings at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced across the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets, fresh
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Heat your cast iron skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and cornstarch until combined.
  3. Add vegetable oil to the hot skillet, swirling to coat the surface.
  4. Cook beef slices in batches until browned, then remove and set aside.
  5. Add broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. Return beef to the skillet and pour in the sauce mixture. Stir to coat everything evenly and cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top, toss gently, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Slice the beef very thinly against the grain for a tender bite.
  • Prep all ingredients ahead of time—stir-frying moves fast!
  • Double the sauce if you prefer a saucier dish.
  • To make it spicier, add chili flakes or sriracha to the sauce mix.
