Description
Sheet Pan Smashburger Fries combine the best of juicy smashburgers and crispy loaded fries in one easy, crowd-pleasing dish. Perfect for game day, casual dinners, or sharing with friends.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bag (28 oz) frozen French fries
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup sliced pickles
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- Chopped green onions or chives, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread frozen fries on a large sheet pan in an even layer and bake according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
- While fries bake, season ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into small, flat pieces (like mini patties or crumbles).
- Once fries are nearly done, remove the sheet pan from the oven and carefully layer the seasoned ground beef evenly over the fries.
- Return to oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until beef is fully cooked and slightly crispy around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions over the beef and fries. Bake an additional 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Remove from oven and top with sliced pickles and your preferred amount of ketchup, mayo, and mustard.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or chives. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For crispier fries, bake them a bit longer before adding toppings.
- Use a blend of cheddar and American cheese for a classic burger taste.
- Drizzle with your favorite burger sauce or spicy aioli for extra flavor.
- Ground turkey or plant-based meat can be used as a substitute for ground beef.
