Description

Sheet Pan Smashburger Fries combine the best of juicy smashburgers and crispy loaded fries in one easy, crowd-pleasing dish. Perfect for game day, casual dinners, or sharing with friends.


Ingredients

  • 1 bag (28 oz) frozen French fries
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sliced pickles
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • Chopped green onions or chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Spread frozen fries on a large sheet pan in an even layer and bake according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
  2. While fries bake, season ground beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Form into small, flat pieces (like mini patties or crumbles).
  3. Once fries are nearly done, remove the sheet pan from the oven and carefully layer the seasoned ground beef evenly over the fries.
  4. Return to oven and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until beef is fully cooked and slightly crispy around the edges.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and diced onions over the beef and fries. Bake an additional 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from oven and top with sliced pickles and your preferred amount of ketchup, mayo, and mustard.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions or chives. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For crispier fries, bake them a bit longer before adding toppings.
  • Use a blend of cheddar and American cheese for a classic burger taste.
  • Drizzle with your favorite burger sauce or spicy aioli for extra flavor.
  • Ground turkey or plant-based meat can be used as a substitute for ground beef.
