Description

A classic comfort dish made with savory ground lamb, tender vegetables, and topped with creamy mashed potatoes baked to golden perfection.


Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground lamb
  • 800 grams potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
  2. Boil potatoes in salted water until tender, then mash with butter and milk until smooth.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet, cook onion and garlic until fragrant, then add ground lamb and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in carrots, peas, tomato paste, and beef broth. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Transfer mixture to a baking dish and spread mashed potatoes evenly on top.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes until golden and slightly crisp on top.
  7. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
