Description

This smoked cream cheese is creamy, smoky, and lightly caramelized on the outside with a rich, velvety center. Coated in a simple blend of brown sugar and warm spices, it is the perfect crowd-pleasing appetizer for gatherings, game days, or cozy nights at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounce block cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F and prepare mild wood chips such as apple or cherry.
  2. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the cream cheese block on a heat-safe tray or foil pan and score the top in a crosshatch pattern.
  4. Brush olive oil evenly over the top and sides, then coat generously with the seasoning mixture, pressing gently so it adheres.
  5. Place the tray in the smoker and cook for 2 hours until the top is lightly caramelized and the center is soft.
  6. Remove from the smoker and let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the smoker lid closed as much as possible to maintain steady temperature.
  • Use smoked paprika for a deeper smoky flavor if desired.
  • Serve warm for the creamiest texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
