Description

A classic, juicy meatloaf with a rich savory flavor and a tangy glaze, perfect for a comforting family dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and half of the ketchup.
  3. Lightly grease a loaf pan or prepare a baking sheet.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it into the pan or onto the sheet.
  5. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until fully cooked through.
  6. Spread the remaining ketchup on top and bake for another 10 minutes.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the meat to keep it tender.
  • Let the meatloaf rest before slicing to hold its shape.
  • You can substitute breadcrumbs with oats or crushed crackers.
