- 500g boneless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (plus more for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add chicken pieces and cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, coriander, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
- Lower heat and add heavy cream and yogurt. Simmer for 8–10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Stir in lemon juice, butter (if using), and fresh parsley.
- Remove from heat and garnish with extra parsley. Serve warm.
Notes
- Best served with basmati rice, bulgur, or warm flatbread.
- Adjust spices for a milder or spicier taste.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Add a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon for extra depth.
