- 2 cups mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, pecans, etc.)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of black pepper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cayenne, smoked paprika, salt, vanilla extract, and black pepper.
- Add nuts to the bowl and toss until evenly coated.
- Spread nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden and fragrant.
- Remove from oven and let cool completely (nuts will crisp up as they cool).
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Notes
- Adjust the level of heat by increasing or decreasing the cayenne pepper.
- Try using maple syrup instead of brown sugar for a different sweetness profile.
