- 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, water, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and black pepper.
- Set the lined baking sheet nearby and keep the olive oil ready for brushing.
- Place one mozzarella stick near the lower corner of an egg roll wrapper. Brush the edges with the egg mixture, fold in the sides, and roll tightly to seal. Repeat with the remaining cheese sticks and wrappers.
- Arrange the wrapped sticks seam side down on the baking sheet and brush the tops lightly with olive oil.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the wrappers are golden and crisp.
- Let rest for 2 minutes, warm the marinara sauce, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Keep the cheese cold until ready to wrap for the best results.
- Seal the wrapper edges well to prevent cheese from leaking.
- Do not overcrowd the baking sheet.
- These can be wrapped ahead and chilled before baking.
