Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, combine chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and brown sugar.
- Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet and pat dry gently.
- Brush the salmon with olive oil and coat evenly with the spice mixture.
- Arrange lemon slices around the salmon fillets.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and the edges are lightly caramelized.
- Remove from the oven, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon, and sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Do not overcook the salmon to keep it tender and juicy.
- For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the spice blend.
- Fresh lemon juice adds the best flavor right before serving.
- Leftover salmon works beautifully in salads, wraps, or grain bowls.
