- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
- Place the cod fillets in the dish in a single layer.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Spoon the mixture evenly over the cod fillets, then top with lemon slices.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a salad.
Notes
- Do not overbake the cod to prevent it from becoming dry.
- You can substitute cod with haddock, halibut, or another firm white fish.
- Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
