Description

This Baked Cod Recipe with Lemon and Garlic is a simple, healthy, and flavorful dish perfect for a light dinner. The tender white fish is infused with citrus and aromatic garlic, and baked to perfection in under 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Place the cod fillets in the dish in a single layer.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  4. Spoon the mixture evenly over the cod fillets, then top with lemon slices.
  5. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a salad.

Notes

  • Do not overbake the cod to prevent it from becoming dry.
  • You can substitute cod with haddock, halibut, or another firm white fish.
