Description

Soft gnocchi tossed in a rich tomato sauce, finished with creamy burrata and fresh basil for a comforting and elegant dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams gnocchi
  • 2 balls burrata cheese (about 200 grams)
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, torn
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a gentle boil.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sauté minced garlic until fragrant, then add cherry tomatoes and cook until softened.
  3. Lightly mash some of the tomatoes to create a thicker sauce, then season with salt and black pepper.
  4. Cook the gnocchi in boiling water until they float, then transfer them directly into the sauce.
  5. Toss gently to coat the gnocchi in the sauce and let everything simmer for a couple of minutes.
  6. Tear the burrata over the top and sprinkle fresh basil leaves.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Do not overcook the gnocchi to keep them soft and pillowy.
  • Add burrata at the end to maintain its creamy texture.
  • Use fresh basil for the best flavor and aroma.
  • Adjust seasoning before serving for perfect balance.
