Description

Creamy, spicy, and packed with flavor, this Cajun Shrimp Pasta brings together juicy shrimp, perfectly cooked pasta, and a rich Cajun cream sauce for a comforting and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 ounces fettuccine pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine until al dente, then drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add shrimp and season with Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water to the sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet and gently mix into the pasta and sauce.
  7. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste. Sprinkle chopped parsley over the top before serving.

Notes

  • Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp — they should be just pink and slightly curled.
  • Reserve pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency as needed.
