Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 cups water, divided
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 4 lemon slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Place a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add cherries, sugar, and 1 cup of water into the saucepan and stir gently.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Once cherries soften and release juices, remove from heat and strain the syrup into a clean container.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Heat the remaining 2 cups of water and steep the tea bags for 5 minutes.
