Description

A refreshing iced tea infused with sweet cherries and smooth vanilla, perfectly balanced for a light and fruity drink.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 black tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1 whole vanilla bean, split
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
  2. Add cherries and sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes until cherries soften and release their juices.
  4. Remove from heat, add tea bags and the vanilla bean, then pour in the remaining 2 cups of hot water.
  5. Let steep for 5 minutes, then remove tea bags and strain out solids.
  6. Allow the tea to cool, then refrigerate until chilled.
  7. Fill glasses with ice and pour the tea over before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh cherries for the best flavor, but frozen cherries can work as well.
  • Do not over-steep the tea to avoid bitterness.
  • Adjust sugar to taste before chilling.
  • Add a splash of lemon juice for a brighter flavor if desired.
