Description

A rich and comforting beef stew made with tender chunks of beef, hearty vegetables, and a deeply flavorful broth that simmers to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 800 grams beef chuck, cut into chunks
  • 3 medium carrots, sliced
  • 3 medium potatoes, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Toss the beef chunks with salt, pepper, and flour until lightly coated.
  3. Add olive oil to the pot and brown the beef on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pot, sauté onion, garlic, celery, and carrots until softened, then stir in tomato paste.
  5. Return the beef to the pot, add potatoes, beef broth, thyme, and bay leaves.
  6. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 1 hour 30 minutes until beef is tender.
  7. Remove bay leaves and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve warm and enjoy.

  • Cut vegetables into larger chunks to keep their shape.
