Description

Soft and fluffy rose water pancakes with delicate floral notes, crunchy pistachios, and a light drizzle of rose syrup. Perfect for an elegant breakfast or cozy brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¼ cups whole milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon rose water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup crushed pistachios
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar, for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon dried rose petals, for garnish
  • ¼ cup rose syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, rose water, and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. Pour about ¼ cup of batter onto the heated skillet for each pancake.
  6. Sprinkle a little crushed pistachio over the batter while cooking.
  7. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until bubbles appear on the surface, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes until golden and fluffy.
  8. Transfer pancakes to a serving plate and repeat with remaining batter.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar, garnish with dried rose petals and extra pistachios, then drizzle with rose syrup before serving.

Notes

  • Do not use too much rose water or the flavor may become overpowering.
  • Let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking for fluffier pancakes.
  • Toast the pistachios lightly for extra flavor.
  • Serve warm for the softest texture and best aroma.
