Description

A refreshing iced tea infused with sweet cherries, warm spices, and a hint of citrus, inspired by the comforting flavors of cherry pie.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 3 black tea bags
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Start by heating a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add water, cherries, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and ginger into the saucepan and stir gently.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then lightly mash the cherries to release their juices.
  4. Remove from heat and add the tea bags, allowing them to steep for 5 minutes.
  5. Take out the tea bags and stir in the honey while the mixture is still warm.
  6. Strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the solids, then add lemon slices.
  7. Refrigerate until chilled and serve over ice.

Notes

  • Use ripe cherries for the best flavor and color.
  • Do not oversteep the tea to avoid bitterness.
  • Chill for at least 2 hours for optimal taste.
