Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 3 black tea bags
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 whole cloves
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root, sliced
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 lemon, sliced
- 4 cups water
Instructions
- Start by heating a saucepan over medium heat.
- Add water, cherries, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and ginger into the saucepan and stir gently.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then lightly mash the cherries to release their juices.
- Remove from heat and add the tea bags, allowing them to steep for 5 minutes.
- Take out the tea bags and stir in the honey while the mixture is still warm.
- Strain the liquid into a pitcher, discarding the solids, then add lemon slices.
- Refrigerate until chilled and serve over ice.
Notes
- Use ripe cherries for the best flavor and color.
- Do not oversteep the tea to avoid bitterness.
- Chill for at least 2 hours for optimal taste.
