Description

Juicy beef burgers topped with sweet caramelized onions, melted cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, and creamy sauce on toasted brioche buns.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 brioche buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 8 pickle slices

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium low heat and cook the onions with butter and olive oil for about 25 minutes until golden and caramelized.
  2. Season the ground beef with salt and black pepper and shape into 4 patties.
  3. Cook the patties in a skillet or grill pan over medium high heat for 4 to 5 minutes per side.
  4. Add cheddar cheese during the final minute of cooking to melt.
  5. Toast the brioche buns lightly.
  6. Spread mayonnaise and Dijon mustard on the buns.
  7. Layer lettuce, burger patties, caramelized onions, and pickles onto the buns.
  8. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Cook onions slowly for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • Do not press the patties while cooking to keep them juicy.
